Fashion 101: Floppy Hats for the Fall
Floppy hats have become an essential accessory to women’s fashion! These hats are both tasteful and fun, and they add a trendy touch to any outfit you want to rock. But the real question is not “can I wear this fashion statement item”, but “how can I wear this item and wear it well!”. Here are some basic guidelines to follow so you can pull off this fun and trendy look!
Find a hat with the right fit:
This is the simplest way to wear a floppy hat so that the hat won’t wear you! Floppy hats can sometimes feel like they are an overwhelming look- but if you find one with the right fit, it will looked balanced and proportional. The hat you choose should fit snugly without having to force the hat onto your head or over your hair. A hat that fits properly should allow two finger widths of space between the middle of your forehead and the hat itself.
Pick the right material that fits the season:
Floppy hats come in a variety of materials and a variety of colors. However, I’m not sure you would want to wear a straw floppy hat in the middle of December. Just like other clothing items, floppy hats are designed in many different materials to fit the time of year. Felt hats are the perfect material for fall and winter!
Pick a color that you love:
As previously mentioned, floppy hats come in an array of colors that you can choose from. Neutrals are a big hit this fall season- these neutral colors range from super light to dark neutrals, which allows you to choose whatever color best goes with your outfit. But just because neutrals are in doesn’t mean you can’t rock a brightly colored floppy hat (especially on game day)!
Rock that hat with confidence!
Floppy hats are a bold fashion statement, and sometimes people feel silly wearing such a large hat to certain occasions. Well push those feelings away and rock that hat with confidence. No matter where you are, whether it’s a day on the town with friends or cheering on your favorite football team on game day, trust in the fact that you are rocking that floppy hat! Confidence is key!
